A special triple cancelled cover for 4 space flights, including John Glenn's STS-95 flight.

Notes

A sale of STS-95 launch covers with the emphasis on Astronaut/Senator John Glenn, with most of the Oct 29, 1998 cancels below having a special pictorial cancel honoring Glenn's Project Mercury flight of 1962 plus his STS-95 Space Shuttle flight of 1998. However there are other cancelled covers on the list too.

There are two special pictorial cancels for the launch of STS-95, one from Kennedy Space Center FL and the other from Houston TX which are described here:

  • All of the Kennedy Space Center FL cancels of 10/29/1998 on this pricelist are in the shape of a Mercury space capsule and depicts the Space Shuttle, with text reading: "Launch Station, John Glenn Returns to Space, from Friendship 7 to STS-95, 1962/1998, " unless otherwise noted.

There are also two different sizes of the Kennedy Space Center FL pictorial cancel (a large one and a small one), however the descriptions below do not indicate which size cancel it is, for the most part most of the cancels are the large type.
Many of the items listed below are special as they have double cancels on the same cover, and even one cover has 3 different inter-related cancels.

Some covers are special in that they have a foreign stamp affixed and postally cancelled or have a local post stamp affixed and postally cancelled.
