USS BOXER (LPH-4), APOLLO AS-201 (APOLLO 3) PRIME RECOVERY SHIP for the 1st Apollo unmanned flight, 02/26/1966, with PM machine cancel on a 5 cent George Washington definitive stamp, with blue BECK printed cachet (#B622) for the Apollo AS-201 recovery, cachet reads: "First Apollo Unmanned Flight, Atlantic Fleet, U.S. Navy Recovery Force". Rubber stamp address.

USS BENNINGTON, APOLLO AS-501 (APOLLO 4) PRIME RECOVERY SHIP for this unmanned flight, 11/09/1967, with AM machine cancel on a 5 cent Flag/savings bond stamp, with purple Navy rubber stamp cachet for the Apollo AS-501 recovery.

USS GUADALCANAL, APOLLO 9 PRIME RECOVERY SHIP for the flight of Astronauts McDivitt, Scott & Schweickart, 03/13/1969, with PM hand cancel (Type I cancel where the word "Guadalcanal" is at the bottom of the cancel)... (not all of the ships name and date is readable) on a 6 cent Flag stamp, with black Navy rubber stamp cachet for the Apollo 9 recovery.

USS PRINCETON, SPECIAL DOUBLE CANCELLED COVER FROM THE APOLLO 10 PRIME RECOVERY SHIP for the flight of Astronauts Stafford, Young and Cernan, An Apollo 8 First Manned Flight to the Moon 6 cent stamp (#1371) First Day Cover with Houston Texas 05/05/1969 first day of issue machine cancel, that has another Apollo 8 stamp affixed besides the existing stamp. The USS Princeton machine cancel of 05/26/1969 was applied to the same two stamps for the Apollo 10 recovery. Both cancels are clearly readable and do not touch each other as the first day of issue cancel was applied low on the stamps and the USS Princeton cancel was applied in the normal machine cancel position. Cover has a multicolored Apollo 8 FLEETWOOD engraved printed cachet of the Apollo 8 astronauts, the Apollo 8 emblem and a view of the cratered Moon with the Apollo 8 capsule over it.(Very few covers were prepared this way). USS HORNET, SPECIAL DOUBLE CANCELLED COVER FROM THE APOLLO 12 PRIME RECOVERY SHIP for the second Moonlanding Flight of Astronauts Conrad, Bean & Gordon, This is an Apollo 11 First Man on Moon 10 cent stamp first Day Cover with Washington DC 09/09/1969 first day of issue hand cancel with commemorative "Moon Landing July 20, 1969" marking. A 6 cent Apollo 8 stamp (#1371) was applied to the cover to receive the USS Hornet cancel for the Apollo 12 recovery, however the USS Hornet 11/24/1969 machine cancel was applied to the already cancelled Apollo 11 stamp and the Apollo 8 stamp received a small pen marking. The USS Hornet cancellation is light but readable, cover has the purple Navy rubber stamp cachet for the Apollo 12 recovery and a small rubber stamp address. (Very few of these were prepared).
