| BRUCE PETERSON. Early experimental research test pilot for the lifting body aircraft and other aircraft. He was also selected as an X-20 DynaSoar Pilot. Autographed and inscribed: "Bruce Peterson, NASA Lifting Body Test Pilot", on a STS-1 second day of flight commemorative cover, with a Houston TX machine cancel on a airmail border envelope, (cancel is light but readable) and a black rubber stamp word cachet (unidentified) that reads: " STS- 1 Space Shuttle Mission". Front of cover has a typed return address of "Photo Technology Div., JL-3-NASA, L.B. Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas 77058". (Peterson was a NASA Dryden research pilot from the early 1960s until 1967. He tested the Rogallo paraglider research vehicle (Parasev), he also flew the M2-F1 and M2-F2 lifting bodys and the HL-10 lifting body M2-F2. later he was a Research Project Engineer on the Digital Fly-By-Wire program). | ||||
