With a red SOKALSKY printed cachet showing 9 astronaut heads & a large arrow pointing upward. With red & black printed & rubber stamp word cachet reading: "Sixth Anniversary, Team 2, U.S. Astronauts Selected." The Jan 3, 1968 cancel is the 6th anniversary of the official naming of the "Gemini" space program. (for the twin stars Castor and Pollux in the constellation Gemini: the Twins, that symbolize the program's two-man crew and its rendezvous mission). [The 9 new astronauts for the Gemini Program were selected in September 1962: Neil Armstrong, Frank Borman, Charles Conrad, Jim McDivitt, Jim Lovell, Elliott See, Tom Stafford, Ed White and John Young]. | ||||

| GEMINI 3, ETR ANTIGUA TRACKING STATION COVER, With a poor St. Johns Antigua hand cancel of March 23, 1965 (however, the date is unreadable). Cover is a HJM black border printed cachet showing various space satellites, the Gemini capsule, the NASA emblem, the Gemini Titan launch vehicle and printed text: "Commemorating a United States Space Achievement" with additional rubber stamp text cachet: "Eastern Test Range, Gemini Tracking Station." plus a red rubber stamp cachet of a Gemini space capsule, and a blue BECK circular rubber stamp text cachet for Gemini 3 that lists the two Gemini 3 astronauts, the date and length of the flight and the prime recovery ship USS Intrepid. | ||||

| GEMINI 4 TRACKING SHIP COMMEMORATIVE COVER, With a Rodman, Canal Zone machine cancel of June 17, 1965 on a 5 cent U.S. Flag stamp AND a 4 cent Canal Zone stamp showing a ship (very unusual mixed combination of stamps on such a cover). With DOCUMENT typed cachet filled in and autographed by the Executive Officer of the USNS Rose Knot (T-AGM-14). The typed cachet reads: "This cachet was stamped and countersigned on June 7, 1965 in Lat.21 South, Long.82 West upon completion of four days of orbiting astronauts J. McDivitt and E. White. It was mailed upon arrival at the first port of call, after completion of the above. (signed) Executive Officer. ". there is one line of black rubber stamp text that reads "USNS Rose Knot (T-ACM-14)" and one additional typed line reading "Project Gemini IV". IMAGE | ||||

With a NASM #28 printed cachet in the Milestones of Flight Commemorative Series shows astronaut Ed White in the first U.S. Space Walk. | GEMINI 5 SPACECRAFT LAUNCH Patrick Air Force Base FL machine cancel August 21, 1965 on a New York Worlds Fair 5 cent postal stationery envelope, showing a stylized world globe with a satellite in orbit stamp (#U546). Two color SPACECRAFT COVERS CACHETS printed cachet for this GT-5 flight, with printed text: " GT-5, Project Gemini, 8 days in space. Space-flight endurance record. Set by Astronauts Gordon Cooper and Charles Conrad. Rendezvous with radar "Hawkeye', launched by Titan II, 10:00 a.m. EDT, 21 August 1965". With small one line rubber stamp address, (which is customary for this cachetmakers covers). Cover comes with descriptive filler card about Project Gemini. NOTE: There a couple of very small visable black marks on the right front edge of the envelope, and some brown stains on the backside of the envelope, these which you can only see when the cover is turned over. Price of this cover has been reduced accordingly. | ||||

A registered cover, with a HJM black border printed cachet showing various space satellites, the Gemini capsule, the NASA emblem, the Gemini Titan launch vehicle & printed text: "Commemorating a United States Space Achievement" with additional rubber stamp text cachet: "Eastern Test Range, Gemini Tracking Station." and a red BECK circular rubber stamp text cachet for Gemini 5 that lists the two Gemini 5 astronauts, the dates of the flight, the length of the flight & the prime recovery ship USS Champlain. Cover is autographed & has a small rubber stamp address. (Besides the register marking on the front, there are two hand cancels on the backside: an Antigua registered hand stamp of Aug. 21, 1965 & a Patrick Air Force Base FL hand cancel of Aug. 25). | ||||
