| RUSSIA: LUNA 16 SOUVENIR SHEET FIRST DAY COVER (#3801), with a red hand cancel of Moscow, Dec. 18, 1970, on a perforated souvenir sheet of 3 stamps (all 20k value) commemorating the successful landing of the Luna 16 spacecraft on the moon: stamps show Luna 16 in space, Luna 16 leaving the moon, and Luna 16 capsule landing on earth. With two color first day printed cachet depicting a space colony on a planet with cosmonauts, rocket and radar, and large moon in the background. (note these stamps are slightly different from the 3 Luna 16 single stamps issued on Dec. 28, 1970, as these stamps have attached labels and the values are different). | ||||
