This list contains all types of covers for air and space events, such as space manned flights, space recoveries from ships, satellite launches, space anniversaries, special air flights and balloon events, etc.

Notes

  • All covers are the number 6 size unless otherwise noted.
  • All covers are unaddressed unless otherwise noted.
  • All covers are cacheted unless otherwise noted and a description is given so you know exactly what you are ordering.
  • Where stamp(s) used on the cover are significant such as being a space stamp or a flag stamp or related to the event or location, they will be described. Otherwise the stamp(s) used on the cover may be a definitive or an unrelated issue.
  • All autographs are genuine.
  • Covers are not listed in any particular order.

Stamp shows two astronauts planting the American flag on the surface of the moon. Multicolored United States Postal Service printed cachet shows the first step on the moon, and a priority mailing label. IMAGE

"A decade of Achievement" Twin Pair of stamps showing Apollo 15 Lunar Rover and Earth from the moon plus a Gemini Space Capsule stamp (#1332), all stamps tied by official first day of issue hand cancel of Houston TX. Black Artcraft engraved printed cachet shows astronaut Neil Armstrong's first step on the moon, astronaut Alan Shepard, the first U.S. man in space, and the launch of his Mercury Redstone rocket. Cachet text reads "Decade of Space Achievements, 1961-1971".

The 2nd cancel is a pictorial HC from Vienna Austria showing the Apollo 11 stamp!!! Dated 07/20/1970 on the 1st anniversary of first moon landing. No cachet needed, (very few prepared this way).

With a 2 color Official tracking station rubber stamp cachet showing an astronaut on the moon with the lunar module in the background and rubber stamp text reading: "ETR Grand Bahama Tracking Station, Apollo 11 First Manned Lunar Landing". Cover was serviced for the moon landing date and received a Jul. 20, 1969 rubber stamp date and signature of the servicer (who is also a Telemetry tracking station technician). Cover were held for cancelling on the splashdown date and received a Freeport Bahamas hand cancel, 24 July, 1969. IMAGE

With a 2 color Official tracking station rubber stamp cachet of a large outline of a perforated stamp showing an apollo capsule, a countdown circle and the logo of the ATA Space Unit. With rubber stamp text reading: "ETR Grand Bahama Tracking Station, Apollo 11 First Manned Lunar Landing". Cover was serviced for the launch date and received the signature of the servicer (who is also a Telemetry tracking station technician). Cover were delivered to the island postoffice and received a Freeport Bahamas hand cancel, 16 July, 1969 (the launch date). IMAGE

APOLLO 11 MOON LANDING TRACKING STATION COVER, a USAF Eastern Test Range(ETR)/Grand Bahama Island (GBI) Tracking Station cover, with a SPECIAL 3 color Official tracking station rubber stamp cachet having a U.S. Apollo 8 space stamp (#1371) affixed, which is locally rubber stamp cancelled with an astronaut and a countdown circle that reads: ":5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Countdown Apollo 1969, July 20", it is placed so that the small astronaut figure is on the moons surface of the postage stamp. Cover also has a rubber stamp impression of the logo of the ATA Space Unit. The word text on the cachet reads: "ETR Grand Bahama Tracking Station, Apollo 11 First Manned Lunar Landing". This cachet was only applied to a limited amount of covers for the servicers collection & personal friends, Covers also received the signature of the servicer & were dispatched to the island postoffice for cancelling & received a Freeport Bahamas hand cancel, 23 July, 1969.
