Comments: Hi Joe:

I spent two weeks on Grand Island in May 1991 working for the FAA. I enjoyed the cows, horses, burros and goats that wondered all over the island.
We were there working on a radar tower. I have since retired from the FAA.
Beautiful beaches there with hardly anybody on them.
Best regards, Milo Holmes

Comments: I collected space covers when I was in high school and part of college (1975 - 1980), and recently found my collection. I even had a little business going selling space covers called "Nova Covers". Living on Long Island, I even met two of the dealers who did a lot in covers, Marvin Hissman of Port jefferson, and Clyde Sarzin of Port Washington. Anyone know what ever happened to them? Well I am back and anxious to re-start my collection. I collected Space Voyage cachets a lot, mostly Space Shuttle (I have many extras from my little business still), but I like the old lifting body and B-1 covers especially. I also collected anything to do with the Concorde. Anyone who can help, let me know what you have. I would be happy to supply a list of what I have for trade.

Comments: Joe,

I work with NASA/MSFC and began as a co-op student in 1959 under Army Ballistic Missile Agency (ABMA) before Von Braun moved to NASA (as a student I went with the army group transferring to NASA). I have been a "space cadet" all these years and have collected many memories associated with my career. I returned from a 2 year tour of duty in Moscow, Russia (Jul,1994 to Jul, 1996) as the manager of the NASA Space Station Liaison Office supporting both the Shuttle/Mir missions and the International Space Station work. I collected many FDC's from USSR space program and have covers to trade.

I am interested in making a collection of all the land tracking stations associated with the "manned space flight program". It would appear that "tracking" was one of your specialities.

Besides stamps, I also have hundreds of books I've collected associated with space exploration. Any interest here on your part?

Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Kenny Mitchell

Comments: Your web site of special interest as I noted in message to Joe...spent many years at network radio news level in NYC and was "pool" correspondent, among others, aboard Gemini 9, 10 and 11...that's the Wasp, Guadalcanal and Guam.....and Apollo 11 and 15....the Hornet and Okinawa. I just got the first day covers for personal interest with little thought to value down the road. I'd love to kick it around with somebody....who knows...maybe an old shipmate.

Comments: I sure wouldn't mind it if you would put some pictures of your cover's on your home page. I really like Space Covers and would be more apt to buying something if I could just see it. So many covers have different designs.
