Comments: Hi Joe! This is Bill York. Remember me??? It has been 10 years since my divorce. As I recall, I was on the phone with you in Sept. '89 when I was served with divorce papers in my own basement. That pretty much destroyed my life. To make a long story short - I moved to NY City, sold my entire collection for very little because I could not keep it. I had to abandon the IASP because it was running on my money and I went bankrupt soon after the divorce. I have been trying to survive since then. Only this week did I get on the Internet at work. The first thing I wanted to do is see how the hobby is doing. I am very happy to see that it is doing fine without me.
If you have a chance, e-mail me and bring me up to date. I do not have anything left of the hobby, stamps, publications, albums, souvenirs - everything is gone. It was a sad day when I sold my last 10 favorite covers for $50 - they were worth much more. But I had to survive for my three sons. They are all in college now. I share an apartment with a stranger in NYC. I work in the Jewelry District in Rockefeller Center. I work six days a week to support them. Seeing your name and that of Linn's and the ATA sent a shiver through me after all that I have been through. I better close now. Say hello to everyone. Always stay with the hobby - I always loved it. Regards, Bill York.....

Comments: Have been a naval cover collector for over 50 years. I have a box full of ship-canceled cacheted Space covers from Apollo, Gemini and Apollo programs. If you'd be interested them, I can catalog them and send you the list for you to then make an offer. Would you be interested? I'd guess there to be about 300 covers involved.

Comments: Hi Mates. I was on the Bennington, A division with Parker, Shirly, Ski, Marrago, Marryman, and Amatulic, from Oct. 67 to Dec 69. I was on board when she picked up Appolo 4. Went to 9 countrys, and became a Shell-Back (Equator,July 21,1968)all on same cruise. Crawlled around that flight deck on my hands and knees for what seemed like an eternity! Sore butt and scuffed knees and all! Pretty exciting stuff. The wonderful thing about having served in the military (Navy) is we did more in a few short years than the average man will do in a life time. they will always be great and exciting years. I met wonderful men. Sadly, we loose touch. Ive gone from a young 20 year to a 50 year old with 5 grand children. I'm looking for old ship mates. Hopefuly, some will be on line and check out the message boards. its fun. thanks for this web sight.
Chapy.
