Comments: Hi, My father was stationed at Mayport Naval Station in the fifties. On July 8, 1959 several "Covers" were given out called "Missle Mail". The cover has the heading of "First Mail delivered by a guided Missle". My father was involved in the security for this event. On June 8, a Regulus I missle was fired from the USS Barbero out in the Atlantic and it landed at Mayport. Have you ever heard of this? I can't find any info on this cover. I'm looking to sell this cover if it is worth enough. I'm traveling now and will be home on March 26th. I'll answer any message you send me then. Thanks Joe.

Comments: I was started to be interested in space when I first read the book: "Destination Moon" at age 8. It was a book of Tintin. I started reading on the topic and then, since I was a philatelist, may as well start collecting space stamps. I found hundreds of stamps but very few covers. I had to go to big exhibitions and find dealers from outside Montreal. I found a ton of them. So I started an exhibit. Now, it is 5 frames or 64 pages. I have won a silver at provincial level but that was my first year. I'm going for vermeil or higher this year before my 14th birthday comes.
I wanted to really congradulate you because you're the first space stamp site I have found. It was by luck as you could say but I sure wouldn't regret it.

Thank you.

Comments: Hi Joe,
Even though I visit your site often, I just read your bio for the first time. I didn't realize you had a background in telemetry. While I don't go as far back as you, I too was involved in the telemetry game flying as a navigator on the ARIA aircraft (formely Apollo Range Instrumentation Aircraft, now Advanced Range instrumentation Aircraft) from 1994-1998. As you know, we provide down-range telemetry in between the land-based coverage. I have many a fond memory of Acsension Island myself. If I am not mistaken, the NASA site down there is closed, but they still have the communications center.
Anyway, I really enjoy your site and have purchased a number of items in the past. Look forward to buying more in the future. Take care,
Kurt Birmingham
