| Comments: | Am I a range-rat? I wired the gyro and telementry equipment on the Redstone at the GD Electric Boat in Quincy. I was there for six months. I recall being in the gyro room when the blackout occured in the northeast. I could see the ConEd plant go dark acroos the water from where we dry docked. |

| Comments: | i understand john glenn obtained a few stamps probably 50 and had them put on no 6 envelopes and had them as contraband with him during his flight, after which he signed the covers as being flown in space have u heard this story!! |

Booshoo, I'm an author, doing research for a novel that I'm presently working on. I'm looking for folks who were working at the GBI (grand Bahama Island) Station #3, and would be willing to help me out with a few questions, etc. Although anytime is good, I’m especially anxious to chat with anyone stationed there and involved with monitoring radar ops during March, 1959. I'm working on an updated & corrected history of Air Force's Spacetrack and Space Surveillance Network (SSN). There are some early SSN sensors for which I have very little information. I'd like to talk to people who may have good photos, documentation or recollections of working with these sensors, their operation or their development. They include: a) The Moorestown NJ FPS-49, circa 1960-1975 b) The Shemya FPS-17 and FPS-80, circa 1960-77 c) The Laredo, Texas radar site, especially FPS-17 or the 60-foot tracker (FPS-78?), circa 1956-64 d) The Trinidad island radars, FPS-43 or FPS-44 (often called FPS-50 & FPS-49 on the Web), circa 1957-71 e) The Turkey FPS-17, circa 1955-97, especially the period before the Cinerama upgrade f) The GPS-10, in Thailand circa 1971-76, and at San Miguel circa 1982-89.
