FMF Local Post: Angels from Grandma's Bible, Cover Album Page- from Joe Frasketi's Space Covers website

Joe Frasketi honored his Grandmother, Mrs. Maryann Fraschetta (this is the original spelling of the family name), by issuing a special Christmas local post cover in 1995 using pictures of angels taken from her holy bible. Grandma Fraschetta died in December 1987. (Continued at the bottom of the page).

Angels from Grandma's Bible LP Issue,
Cover cancelled Oct. 19, 1995, Christmas FL.
First day of Issue of the 20 cent FMF local post stamp
and also the USPS 32 cent Christmas Midnight Angel postage stamp.
Two additional American Bible Society seals were affixed to this cover
with the 32 cent postage stamp in the middle.
One ABS seal shows an angel and the other shows the Chistmas nativity scene.

that came with the above cover honoring Joe Frasketi's special Grandma

ANGELS FROM GRANDMA'S BIBLE

It laid there on the wall shelf beside the old radio in the little sitting room.
The backyard garden that Grandma tended to lovingly could be seen thru the sitting room window.
In the evenings when her house work was done she would sit on the small sofa by the window and read from it, Sometimes her head would nod up and down, weary from the days chores.
This was Grandma's Bible.

It was a tattered book, the original cover had long worn out to be replaced with a heavy green plastic sheet made from an old calendar for better protection.
The pages were worn and held together with scotch tape, as they were turned most every day, The front piece gives the date of 1880, just eight years before her birth.
This was Grandma's Bible.

Neighbors passing by along the street could smell the wonderful sweet aroma coming from Grandma's kitchen when she made her weekly bread especially the many days near Christmas time when she would make her special cookies for her large family.
The holy book was there on the shelf overlooking all that she did.
This was Grandma's Bible.

One cold December day not too long ago, as she approached her 100th birthday, the Lord took her away to be with Him.
Now she is tending God's garden and making heavenly cookies for all the angels, in praise of Him.
When I open the treasured book I can see her in the pictures as I look at the
Angels from Grandma's Bible.
