Below is a small sample of the many topical local post stamps on cover in my collection issued by Joe Lo Preiato, the director and operator of his Enotria Local Post. He holds a mailers permit cancel (#007) from East Berlin CT and uses it to cancel certain covers he mails as shown below. Joe is a member of the Local Post Collectors Society and has helped many collectors get started with their own local post, he is also the past president of the Mailers Postmark Permit Club. 150th Anniversary of Florida Statehood, 1845 - 1995 LP Issue, Cover cancelled March 3, 1995, Tallahassee FL. First day of Issue of the 20 cent local post stamp and also the USPS 32 cent Florida postage stamp.
25th Anniversary 1st Moonlanding LP Issue , Cover cancelled August 7, 1995, Long Beach MS. A commemorative cover with the 25 cent local post stamp & USPS commemorative Space Shuttle pictorial hand cancel. 
125th Anniversary Universal Postal Union and 11th Anniversary National Local Post Day LP issue Cover cancelled January 25, 1999, with Mailers Postmark Permit #007 from East Berlin CT. A first day cover of the 15 cent local post stamp 
1994, International Year of the Family (IYF) LP issue Cover posted February 4, 1994, at a Sarasota FL Stamp Show & received a first day of Issue stamp and cancel from the United Nations NY for the IYF. A first day cover of the pair of 25 cent local post stamps. Details of the Enotria Local Post:
